Pediatric liver weight accounted for more than adults, about 1 / 20-1 / 16. With the development of the human body, the absolute weight of the liver weight and volume gradually increased, the proportion of body weight gradually decreased, after adolescence gradually close to adults. Its structure and function are more meticulous and complex than adults and a huge anatomical difference between individuals. Using Computer Assisted Surgery System (CAS) to load liver CT data set in format of DICOM, a transparent, visible and arbitrary three-dimensional digital model including liver parenchyma portal venous system and hepatic arterial system, hepatic vein and biliary system could be constructed. Thus the digital liver of an individualized pediatric liver is formed. The digital liver is capable of presenting the functional liver volume and form, the shape of hepatic vascular system and biliary system and the dominant region of hepatic portal vein, etc., which provides individualized clinical information for the evaluation of liver development, liver function reserve, liver transplantation and disease susceptibility.
Liver is complicated in anatomy and more variety while more meticulous in children. Spiral CT scan images of normal liver in different age groups were introduced into Hisense Computer Assisted Surgery System (Hisense CAS System) in DICOM format, hepatic and intrahepatic vascular system (hepatic vein, portal vein, hepatic artery) and biliary system were precisely segmented respectively, image processing and three-dimensional reconstruction, established virtual and emulational normal digital liver model in children. Database composed of national and even the global children normal digital liver can provide pediatric liver data sets of all ages groups and provide continuous human liver developmental data. By analyzing this database, you can understand the morphological characteristics of human liver, volume changes, vascular classification and characteristics, ethnic differences, effectively avoid the above information’s drawbacks which was mainly from the autopsy, intraoperative findings, two-dimensional image. It will provide intuitive, adequate and effective clinical digital data for our further understanding of normal pediatric liver development, anatomical and physiological characteristics and provide a strategic data resources to reveal the development of normal liver for the human body.
